Nasty Idols: Boys Town

Nasty Idols new album Boys Town is after just a few times in the player absolutely worth to get your hands on. Their sometimes very raw and sleazy style could sound like Crashdiet and Vains of Jenna. Especially Andy Pierce's voice is very similar to Vains of Jenna, which in my opinion is a positive thing.

1st track of the cd "Rock Out" is a real sleazer with lots of guitars and great vocals. 2nd track "Boys Town" which is also the title track is a slower and a bit different kind of song. 3rd track "Method to Madness" is my bid on the first single from this album. It just simply rocks from first listen.

This album also contains a couple of more laid back songs like "Nite like This" and "It ain't Easy", songs that could easily become big hits on particularly the swedish hit lists. The rest of the songs are pretty good too and there is actually not a bad song on the album. This is one of those albums that will typically just get better and better the more you listen to it.

All in all Nasty Idols have succeeded making a really good album after a 10 year break from each other. I think this is going to be one of the best sleaze releases of 2009. In my opinion, it may even influence non-music lovers who'd rather watch videos or play poker online. And once again it leaves you surprised with the high level of music that comes out of Sweden again and again. Although Nasty Idols don't quite reach the level of Hardcore Superstar and Crashdiet, that I consider to be the best 2 bands right now, they fall in to the category just below alongside bands like: Vains of Jenna, Gemini Five, Crazy Lixx, Crucified Barbara and Babylon Bombs.
